Focaccia is a flat oven-baked Italian bread product similar in style and texture to pizza dough. Focaccia can be used as a side to many meals or as sandwich bread. Focaccia al rosmarino (focaccia with rosemary).
Focaccia is one of the most favored of recent trending foods in the world. It’s easy, it is fast, it tastes yummy. It’s enjoyed by millions every day. Focaccia is something which I have loved my whole life. They’re nice and they look fantastic.
To begin with this particular recipe, we have to prepare a few components. You can cook focaccia using 9 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you cook it.
The ingredients needed to make Focaccia:
- Prepare 300 g bread flour
- Prepare 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- Take 5 g salt
- Take 210 ml water
- Take 2.5 g dry yeast

- Take To taste rosemary
Focaccia Market Bakery. (Chef's Note: This may seem excessive, but focaccia is an oily crusted bread. This is why it is soooooooooo delicious!). Put the dough onto the Liberally sprinkle the top of the focaccia with some coarse sea salt and lightly drizzle a little oil on top. Bake the dough until the top of the loaf is golden.
Steps to make Focaccia:
- First combine the flour, yeast, water, and salt in a bread maker and select the ‘dough’ course/program. After around 5 minutes, mix in 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and continue the program.
- Once the course is finished, take out the dough on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or greased with olive oil, and let the dough rest for 20 minutes.
- In a small bowl, combine the remaining 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and 2 tablespoons of boiling water and mix until emulsified.
- Spread out the dough on the baking tray and poke the dough with your fingers. Then, pour the mix from step 3 on top of the dough. Let the dough rest for 2 hours.
- After 2 hours, add the olives and rosemary (optional). Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- Bake the dough for 15-20 minutes at 200°C until ready.
Focaccia is a blank canvas for delicious toppings, so feel free to experiment and get creative. This classic recipe's got fresh rosemary leaves (which get crisp like little herb chips in the oven!) and crunchy sea salt. But you could add sesame seeds, cheese, olives, sun-dried tomatoes.
