- Get 1/4 cup washed and soaked rice (soaked for10min)

- Make ready 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- Prepare 1 tsp jeera
- Take 3-4 curry leaves
- Make ready 2 slit green chillies
- Take 1 dried red chilli
- Make ready 1/2 tbsp haldi powder
- Get 1 tbsp coriander powder
- Prepare 1 tbsp panner masala
- Take 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- Prepare As per taste Salt
- Make ready 2 tbsp ghee
- Make ready 1 tbsp oil
- Prepare As required Water
- Get for Garnishing:
- Prepare As required Roasted Papad
- Make ready As per taste Pickle
- Make ready as required Onion and lemon slices
Steps to make Restaurant Style Dal Khichdi:
- Firstly in a pressure cooker add soaked rice and dal together add water, salt and haldi powder then cook them for 3-4 whistle after 4 whistles cool down the cooker and then open the lid.
- Meanwhile, take a bottom vessel add ghee as it heats add rai and green chilli as it splutters add onion and saute it for 2min or till it turns soft or in pink colour. Then add ginger garlic paste cook it for 1min then tomato puree and all dry masala and cook it for 2 mins.
- As tomato puree leaves oil add above cooked dal rice mixture mix it well, add water as required for consistency and cook it for 5- 10 mins. Then turn off the gas.
- Now for tadka heat oil in a pan, as oil heats add jeera, curry leaves and dry red chilli as it crackles turn off the gas. Now in a serving bowl add Khichdi then pour tadka on it serve hot with papad, pickle onion and lemon slice.
