- Make ready 150 g tempeh
- Make ready 200 g broccoli
- Prepare bulgur/rice
- Get 2 cloves garlic
- Get 2 tbsp soy sauce
- Prepare 2 tbsp vegetable broth
- Prepare 0.5 tbsp maple syrup
- Make ready olive oil
Using the same pan, add the oil. Then add the onion, garlic, pepper, and oregano if using. Add the tomatoes, bulgur, water, and salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to low.
Instructions to make Bulgur with tempeh and broccoli:
- Mix together the sauce ingredients: soy sauce, minced garlic, vegetable broth, maple syrup and 1 tbsp of olive oil. Set aside.
- Cut the tempeh into strips. In a pan heat some olive oil and brown the tempeh on both sides.
- Once the tempeh is brown, add the sauce and mix. Add broccoli florets and mix again. Let is simmer for 10-15min until the broccoli is tender. In the meantime cook the bulgur/rice according to package instructions.
- Serve immediately over the bulgur/rice.
Cover it and cook until all the liquid is absorbed. Tempeh cubes are soaked in a garlic and ginger marinade and mixed in with stir fried broccoli, rich peanut sauce and fresh basil leaves. Add tempeh cubes and toss to coat. Coat the bottom of a medium skillet with oil and place over medium heat. Using tongs, transfer to bowl of ice water and cool.
