- Bake in pre heated oven for 40-50 minutes at 170° C.
- Test cake by inserting a skewer into the centre of the cake. If cooked, skewer will come out clean, if there is moist cake mixture on the skewer, return to the oven for a further 10 minutes before testing again.
- Stand the cake for 5 minutes before turning onto a wire rack.
I like using all-purpose flour, but you can substitute some of the all-purpose flour for whole wheat or white whole wheat flour. For a gluten-free carrot cake, swap the flour for your favorite gluten-free flour blend. Baking soda helps the cake to rise. Salt, cinnamon, and vanilla extract make the cake taste amazing. Oil keeps the cake nice and moist — any neutral flavored oil will work.
