- Cover it and keep it for fermentation.
- Boil the potatoes, remove the skin and cut it into big pieces. Chop the onion into long sliced. Chillies slited.
- Take a pan, add oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, Chana daal, turmeric and asfoitida. Add onion and chillies. Saute for some time. Now add potatoes and salt. Mix it well and gently. Masala is ready
- Spread the batter on the tawa. Let it cook for some time. Now apply Ghee or butter. Add masala. Serve hot with coconut chutney or Sambhar.
